475,182 candidates to sit PMR exam

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 475,182 candidates will sit the written Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination from next Wednesday until Oct 13.

A statement from the Education Ministry yesterday said that of the figure, 442,611 candidates were from fully-aided government schools, 13,561 from private schools, 338 were individual candidates, 4,150 from Mara Junior Science Colleges, 4,150 from Armed Forces Apprentice Training School, 1,288 from Sekolah Agama Rakyat and 13,234 from Sekolah Agama Negeri.

According to the statement, Selangor had the largest number of PMR candidates at 77,826 while Labuan had the least, at 1,154.

There will be 28,028 invigilators manning the 3,496 examination centres nationwide and to ensure smooth running of the examination, all candidates are required to observe the stipulated examination conditions and rules.

NOTE: SMK Matang Jaya will have about 300 students sitting for the PMR as well this year.  The school administration and ll students and teacher’s of SMK Matang Jaya would like to wish them the very best of luck in their examination.
